Yoga came into my life during a challenging time, quickly becoming more than just physical exercise—it became essential for my holistic well-being and healing. It taught me resilience, self-trust, and helped me find my voice and purpose. I became a yoga teacher to share these transformative yoga benefits with others, continuing to learn so that I can better support my students.
While I teach various yoga styles, I’m most inspired by dynamic vinyasa flows that combine strength and breath. The story of Virbhadra, the warrior, resonates with me and inspired the name of this yoga studio, A Warriors Place. Here, we welcome everyone at any stage in their journey, honoring growth, healing, and purposeful movement.
I am a 500 RYT and have been teaching for 15 years. I have certifications in Hot, Power, Vinyasa and Trauma-Informed Yoga. I also have my Group Advanced Fitness & Nutrition Coach Certification.

Hello, I'm Kristen—a newly certified 200-hour yoga instructor, as well as a wife, mom, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. I enjoy traveling, cooking, swimming and being around people. My love of yoga began about 4 years ago, and I cannot wait to see how it continues to evolve.

Melissa Hoyt Sullivan, RYT 200, came to yoga seeking grounding and found a practice—and a community—that felt like home. She now teaches gentle flow and restorative yoga, creating spaces where students can slow down, reconnect, and feel supported. Melissa is grateful to share her practice at A Warrior’s Place in Galena, Ohio.
Restorative yoga is a deeply restful practice centered on slowing down, releasing tension, and supporting the body through passive stretching. These long, supported holds help reset the parasympathetic nervous system, calming the heart rate, regulating blood pressure, and encouraging the body’s natural healing processes. By easing out of the “fight, flight, or freeze” response and into “rest and digest,” restorative yoga nurtures mental, emotional, and physical relaxation. We incorporate props to make the poses accessible to nearly everyone, and students are able to feel truly held in them.

I started my fitness journey early. Most of my life I was involved in some kind of fitness class. About four years ago, I decided that I wanted to become a fitness instructor. So through LA fitness I became certified in group fitness and cycling. I am super excited to teach at A Warrior’s Place.
